Algonquin College Joins the RISE UP Movement
On November 27th, The Jordan Leigh Foundation will share Jordan's story at Algonquin College, addressing the dangers of tainted drugs, overdose prevention, mental health, and the importance of ending stigma around addiction. Our partners from Shepherds of Good Hope in Ottawa will join us as students fundraise and assemble 55 RISE UP Bags, each filled with essential items to be distributed at one of their shelters.
We invite you to be part of this meaningful initiative! Your donations help us shape the lives of young people, support those in need, and foster a compassionate community. Every contribution counts:
$5 provides a hygiene product for the bag
$10 covers the cost of a bag
$50 funds an entire bag, filled with essential items

OTTAWA’S BATTLE FOR RECOVERY
Join us for an inspiring day on Thursday, November 21st, as Empower2Recover Foundation partners with The Jordan Leigh Foundation for a powerful fundraising event dedicated to breaking the stigma around trauma, addiction, and mental health, showing that we are the Statistics of Hope.
This event will feature motivational speakers, including Chef Recovery Jay Barnard and Jodi McCullough, founders of both foundations, who will share their personal journeys and empower individuals on their path to sobriety. We’ll also have live singing performances and an incredible lineup of speakers, including Denise Frenette, an award-winning life coach and medium, Derick Fage, TEDx speaker and host of Rogers Daytime Ottawa TV, and a sound healing performance by Sky. The list goes on!
Together, we’ll explore the connection between trauma, mental health, and addiction, while providing hope and strength to those in need. All proceeds from the event will support both foundations, allowing us to continue our mission of helping individuals struggling with trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges.
We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and can’t wait to see you there!
Let’s RISE UP together and make a lasting impact.
